As Fortify’s Flux Printer platform launches into production, we are building out a support team to keep pace with our expanding customer base. The Senior Field Service Engineer will be responsible for supporting equipment installations and repairs at both customer and internal sites. The ideal candidate will have experience with field service support of complex electromechanical systems. An ability to work with customers, take initiative, and operate in an organized manner are keys to success in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair activities on both customer and in house machines
- Install new machines at customer facilities across the country and perform general training
- Adopt and develop documentation of field service methods and procedures
- Communicate and work proactively with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Applications
Engineering teams to improve product performance
- Provide support to manufacturing and assist in machine production as needed
- Participate in engineering design reviews and NPI projects to provide input from the field service
point of view
Candidate Prerequisites
- 5+ years of experience servicing industrial electromechanical equipment at customer locations
- Strong communication skills, with an ability to represent the company in front of customers
- Competence troubleshooting electromechanical systems through back-end diagnostic software
tools
- Hands-on capability to troubleshoot, repair, and assemble electromechanical systems
- Experience working safely with AC and DC electricity and wiring
- Ability to interpret Engineering design documentation (schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings,
assembly instructions, BOMs, etc.).
- Proficient with mechanical and electrical tools used in product development, manufacturing, and
servicing of electromechanical systems (common hand tools, drills, presses, multi-meters, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail
- An ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of time, occasionally on short notice
